Frequently asked questions
Anything else? hello@chronosity.com
What is Chronosity?+
Chronosity is a desktop application that syncs folders between your computers directly over your local Wi-Fi network. No cloud service is involved in the sync path — files travel directly from machine to machine.
Is this like Dropbox or Google Drive?+
No. Dropbox and Google Drive route your files through their servers. Chronosity is LAN-only: files travel directly between your devices. There is no Chronosity server in the middle.
What platforms are supported?+
Windows is available now. macOS and Linux are next on the roadmap.
Does it work over the internet?+
V1 is LAN-only — devices must be on the same local network. Internet relay (for VPN-less remote sync) is planned for a future release.
How does the conflict resolution work?+
If you edit the same file on two offline devices, Chronosity uses the modification time to decide which version wins when they reconnect. The losing version is kept as a .conflict sidecar file. No manual prompt ever blocks your work.
Is my data encrypted?+
Yes. Every device-to-device connection uses mutual TLS with Ed25519 certificate pinning. You pair devices explicitly, and unknown devices are rejected. Your files are never readable in transit.
What is the pricing model?+
Chronosity costs $10 as a one-time lifetime purchase. No subscription, no renewal, no per-device fee. The first 10,000 copies are sold at this early-bird price.
Can I get a refund?+
If Chronosity doesn't work for you, contact us within 30 days for a full refund.
How does the affiliate program work?+
After your purchase, you receive a personal referral link. When someone buys through your link, you earn 50% of the sale — transferred directly to your Stripe account. One flat level, no MLM.
What if I reinstall my computer?+
Log into your account at chronosity.com/account using your license key to download the installer again and re-enter your key.
Is it really one-time? No subscription?+
Yes. You pay once and own it forever. No renewal, no annual fee, no feature paywalls.
How many devices can I use it on?+
All your personal devices. There's no artificial device cap.
